About IDMI

Since its inception in 2005, International Drum Major Institute (IDMI), is one of the fastest growing Drum Major Schools, having taught hundreds of students across the nation, amassing some of the world’s best instructors and competitors together to produce quality education and a lifelong enjoyment of Drum Majoring to its students.

Inspired by some of the best educational conservatories, International Drum Major Institute lends its success to a strong foundation in its private instructors who must remain actively involved in their art of competing, adjudication, and instruction.

Services

Instructors at International Drum Major Institute are well known for their knowledge, understanding, and instruction of all Drum Major styles.

International Drum Major Institute provides its services in all styles; American Baton, American Mace, Scottish/British Mace.

These services are also available for all types of competition; Parade Competition, Solo Performance, and Scottish Highland Games.

Instructors

The instructors at International Drum Major Institute are constantly involved in competing and travel nationally and internationally to do so, which in turn provides the most complete and up to date instruction of Drum Major styles and flourishes.  The staff are always in demand to host clinics and seminars locally and nationally.

Equipment

Instructors use and endorse Regimental Mace Company maces and batons.

The Competitor Series maces and batons are a collaborated effort by Dr. Ken Misch (Drum Major of LA Scots Grade 1 Pipe Band and former University of Colorado at Boulder Marching Band Drum Major), and Jason Paguio (IDMI Founder and multi-World Champion Drum Major),  together with engineers who have developed items for the athletic, aerospace, and automotive industries; resulting in the most aerodynamic and intuitive equipment ever produced. The Competitor Series are the world’s first scientifically engineered drum major equipment and allow drum majors to perform with less effort, better consistency, and greater flexibility.
